Brand design



Praxis42 is one of the UK's largest fire, health and safety training and consulting businesses. With clients including ITV, BT and HSBC it needed a website that reflected its wide range of services, modern eLearning platform and provided expert, authoritative content.

The strategic challenge

Praxis42 needed to accelerate the take-up of digital sales to its new online Learning Management System, and health and safety training courses, as well as deliver digital acquisition routes to its risk assessment and consulting services aimed at retail, hospitality and SME sectors.

Its previous website was out-of-date and built on an ageing tech stack. It was slow, had poor UX and didn’t reflect the brand’s modern, agile values. Additionally, the Praxis42 brand required a refresh, positioning it as a forward-thinking health and safety expert, along with SEO support.

The project was the result of Submerge’s SEO support, which started in 2020 and saw Submerge-originated high-quality SEO-optimised content increase organic traffic from a few hundred visits to thousands each month.

Our approach

Submerge developed a web modernisation programme that was supported with a new brand identity, modern UX and UI approaches, and a fast, rebuild site in WordPress with fully bespoke WooCommerce product pages.

We worked with Praxis42’s in-house marketing and leadership team to scope the project, including on-site full-day brainstorming and ideation sessions. We assessed competitors, identified competitive opportunities, and developed the site through wireframes, high-fi designs, build and deployment.

Integration was critical. We used APIs to connect to business services including HubSpot, SaleForce and Praxis42’s Learning Management System. Bespoke WooCommerce product pages allow Praxis42’s eLearning courses to be sold as both individual courses or in bulk to enterprise customers.

Submerge additionally redesigned and repositioned the Praxis42 brand, providing refreshed logo, brand assets, tone of voice guidelines and image guidelines.

The result

Praxis42’s new site was successfully launched in 2022, ushering in a modern, flexible and forward-thinking website that better matched the brand’s aspirations and customers.

Coupled with SEO support from Submerge, traffic doubled within 12 months – with cornerstone health, safety and fire guides delivering excellent EEAT performance.
